During an integrated career of more than 30 years in private and public sector planning, Jim has been responsible for coordination of master planning and entitlement for large-scale communities and major commercial projects. He is an expert in the management and oversight of all development activities, including the coordination of all regulatory, planning, engineering, and environmental matters that affect southwest Florida.

Lauded for his professionalism, expertise, business skills, experience, leadership, and character, Jim has been involved in the development process in Sarasota County for decades. He has played a major role in the Palmer Ranch and Lakewood Ranch developments, and in most of the other prominent developments and planning projects in Sarasota County.

Jim’s work on Palmer Ranch and other developments earned him the Private Sector Award of Excellence from the American Planning Association Suncoast Chapter, the Outstanding Private Development Award from the Florida Planning and Zoning Association, the Southeast Builders Aurora Award, and numerous other honors.
