Mitch McKnight has applied his management expertise to the planning, design, and construction of roadway and drainage projects, site development projects, and water and wastewater collection and treatment facilities. He has worked closely with local, state, and federal governmental and permitting agencies. As a licensed engineer in four states McKnight brings well-rounded experience and knowledge to the WilsonMiller team. His unique understanding of design intent, criteria definition and application, agency interface and community priorities are invaluable in guiding these projects.

Mitch has overseen the widening of McIntosh Road, improvements to Cattlemen Road, and the construction of Honore Avenue Phases 1-4 from Clark Road to the southern boundary of the Palmer Ranch Development of Regional Impact (DRI). He also has been involved in other roadway design projects in Sarasota County involving Lemon Avenue, Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, Beach Road, Brown Road, Palmer Ranch Parkway, the University Parkway/Lockwood Ridge Intersection, State Road 64, and 22nd Street.

In addition, Mitch has managed a number of commercial and industrial projects in Sarasota County, including the district-wide site preparation for the Sarasota County Board, the Honore Avenue Ambulatory Care Center at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and the North Port City Center. He was also the manager of the award-winning Bahia Vista/Lockwood Ridge Floodplain Reclamation Project, the Celery Fields Regional Stormwater Facility and the Hudson Bayou Regional Desiltation Facility in Sarasota County. In Manatee County, he is the project manager for multi-year continuing engineering services for the county’s stormwater department.
