FEMA Flood Insurance changes and what they mean to you, your home and your projects

Effective October 1, 2009 the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has deleted the standard deductible of $500 and raised it to $1,000 for Post-Firm (Flood Insurance Rate Map) and raised the Pre-Firm deductible to $2,000.  Owners of pre-firm properties have the option to buy back the $1,000 deductible within 60 days of their renewal of their flood insurance policy.   The rates are also increasing for some of the existing flood zones, V Zones will be raised 10 %, rates for A Zones will rise 8-10%, X zones and Miscellaneous zone rates will rise between 8 and 10 % as well. John Maloney, P.S.M, Promoted to Regional Business Unit Manager of Survey/Mapping for Lower Southwest Florida

WilsonMiller is pleased to announce that John P. Maloney, P.S.M., was promoted to Regional Business Unit Manager for Surveying – Lower Southwest Florida. A professional land surveyor, he is a Senior Associate at WilsonMiller and will now manage the surveying and mapping efforts of WilsonMiller’s lower Southwest Florida Regional offices.

Mr. Maloney has 28 years of professional surveying and mapping experience (all with WilsonMiller), and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Surveying. John is an accomplished and respected professional with a proven record in client service.

His project experience includes utilities, roads, schools, and residential and commercial developments. Mr. Maloney manages surveys as they relate to development, including boundary surveys, subdivision plats and condominium plats.

John is also active within the community, including being recently named President of the Foundation for the Developmentally Disabled (FFDD). In addition to his work on behalf of FFDD, Maloney is a member of the Naples Nites Lions Club and served as Chairman of the Golf Tournament Committee to benefit the Florida Lions Camp for children and adults with disabilities.
