Request for bids for the construction of Honore Avenue Phase V were publicly advertised by Palmer Ranch Holdings LTD on September 4, 2009. This project is a public-private partnership with Sarasota County to construct 2.5 miles of a critical arterial roadway through the Central County area from its current southern terminus to State Road 681. This segment plays an important role in the overall corridor which will ultimately provide an alternative north-south route to I-75 and US 41 between Venice and Sarasota.

As the Engineer of Record, WilsonMiller, Inc. designed the project to include two outside travel lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, a closed drainage system and a tree planted median. Honore Avenue Phase V also incorporates a 24-inch water line through the entire project length which will provide a vital water resource link in the overall potable water system.
